Helix Ring - pink sapphire

The Helix Ring is shaped by a series of gentle, rising curves - inspired by the twists of the DNA helix - that flow together to form a sculptural blunt knife-edge band. A clean, modern silhouette with with inspiration from my other career in medicine.

At its peak sits a 2.02 ct hot pink unheated sapphire from Mozambique, bezel-set in warm gold. The tilted pear adds movement and playfulness, while its vivid colour and natural inclusions bring depth and individuality.

Hand-carved in wax and hand-cast in solid gold, the continuous curve feels both sculptural and familiar - a comforting form that sits beautifully on the hand.

A modern reinterpretation of the classic solitaire.
